Maximum bets - these are bets my contact saw in action "with his own eyes",
i.e. the improvement they made, or potential they shown in training.
He himself will have a very decent bet on these horses.
Regular bets - these are "tips" my contact received from trainers and owners.
He didn't see these horses "with his own eyes" on the gallops so he'll have
only small or moderate bet. If you check the results pattern in the past
2 years you'll notice that regular bets perform very well from start of the season
on the flat until early October, when they gradually decline as horses become more
exposed (prices shorten) as season draws to an end.
This point system (regular bets 1pt win or 0.5 pt EW, maximum bets 2 pts win
or 1 pt EW) works for us very well, but we have to be very carefull with regular
bets towards the end of the season. This comming flat season - in the final 5 weeks
of the flat (1st October - 6th November 2010) we will follow only maximum bets
as the regular ones can be very tricky (little value) this time of year.
